PDM Bio

Pat experienced an emotional, rollercoaster journey after losing Alicia, her only child, to complications related to Short Bowel Syndrome. She later spent years researching the dynamics around a mother’s fear of communicating with physicians, the never-ending grief after losing a child, and the emotional and mental development of children with medical issues. Her research sparked the development of several businesses and services to support those causes. She is now a certified grief coach, bookstore owner, inventor, and speaker.

As the CEO and Founder of PDM Journey Coaching, Pat encourages, empowers, and strengthens mothers to become soft-spoken, strong advocates for their children in intensive care units (ICU). She also supports mothers who have transitioned to grief after losing their children and are stuck in a never-ending cycle of grief. She guides them to a place of acceptance, peace, and gratitude that allows them to remember, honor, and respect their children and the memories they once shared.

She is the CEO and Founder of A Pathway From Grief, a not-for-profit organization. She provides grief support, parenting skills, and techniques to African American mothers of children in underserved and underprivileged communities to eliminate emotional and physical abuse and premature deaths among black children.

She is the CEO and Founder of Medically Inspired Reading About Challenging Life Experiences (MIRACLE) Online Bookstore. This B2B organization explains and introduces real-life medical illnesses, conditions, and circumstances to children. MIRACLE promotes and encourages the acceptance of those considered “different,” builds self-esteem, and reduces bullying and suicide among children.

In addition, Pat is the inventor of Therapeutic Dolls, which innovatively allows children to understand the processes before and after surgical procedures while encouraging them to become early participants in their healthcare. She holds a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Pat’s an overcomer of stuttering who has intentionally avoided public speaking, and she jokingly talks about the coaching profession that once required her to sit in small circular groups, now requiring her to speak behind podiums. Her value-packed presentations have changed the lives of uncountable women and their families. As a divorcee, she raised her three children, who are all now successful adults. She attributes her creativity, decision-making skills, innovation, and strength to her faith in Jesus Christ.
